BASC Club (Bandon Area Special Children) is a fun club organised by a group of parents of children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the Bandon, Kinsale and surrounding areas.
It is important that people with intellectual disabilities are integrated and included in community activities and we wish to promote this inclusion.
We employ two support workers, Olive Hurley & Katie McCleary, to run after-school & weekend Junior and Senior fun clubs and have also recently introduced a Young Adults club. We are also very lucky to have volunteers Gemma, Mairead, Caroline and Lwijia to lend a helping hand.
Junior & Senior club members take part in various activities such as swimming lessons, Tae Kwon Do, dance, drama, singing, art, gym, yoga, cookery etc. and our Young Adults enjoy trips to the cinema, bowling, shopping etc.
